Great Taste is the largest and most trusted food & drink accreditation scheme. It supports and promotes food & drink producers, large and small, giving buyers and food lovers in the UK and overseas reliable recommendations for great tasting food.
Great Taste offers a unique benchmarking and product evaluation service, that encourages confidence and commercial success for quality food & drink businesses. This in turn generates a greater awareness for products locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
The award puts producer's food or drink to the test with a panel of over 500 experts; it's a quick way to get honest, straightforward and impartial feedback from chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers. Whether a product receives a 1, 2, or 3-star accolade (3 stars is the maximum), Great Taste stars are highly respected seals of approval.
The International Spirits Challenge
The International Spirits Challenge winners are established through a rigorous judging process - a highly controlled operation held over twelve days of intense blind tastings by panels of more than 50 respected and experienced industry professionals.
The London Spirits Competition
The London Spirits Competition looks to recognise, reward and help promote spirits brands that have successfully been created to identify with and target a specific spirits drinker. For any spirits brand to earn its place on a retailer’s shelf or a restaurant’s spirits list - and then vitally stay there - they need to be marketable and consumer-driven and not just produced in the general hope it can find enough people willing to sell and buy it.
That is why the London Spirits Competition is different. It will single out and shine the spotlight on those spirits brands that consumers really want to buy and have a clear market value for trade buyers.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition
The reputation of a spirits competition is often defined by the quality of its judges. At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the judging panels consist of the most respected, experienced experts in the spirits industry.
Founded in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the oldest and largest competition of its kind.The Tasting Alliance Competitions are considered the most influential for a reason.
Earning a medal from the organization not only helps brands enter and stand out in international markets but is a critical next step for any producer to earn recognition in the industry and with consumers.
About Henstone
Henstone Distillery was established in Oswestry, Shropshire, United Kingdom in 2017 by Chris and Alexandra Toller, and Shane and Alison Parr. Shane and Alison also run an established brewery (Stonehouse Brewery) and the distillery is based at the brewery site. They spent several years planning their venture. After receiving a grant from the RDPE they installed an impressive 1000 litre still, affectionately named Hilda. Hilda was manufactured by Kothe in Germany and supplied to them by their UK agents Ryebeck Limited.
Their aim is to create the best quality products for people like them who enjoy sophisticated, classic spirits, but with that small batch twist.
They're all passionate about the high calibre spirits that they're producing and are looking forward to utilising Hilda’s many talents to create even more fabulous drinks.
Alison originally came up with the phrase “Hatched From The Hearts”. Apparently whilst in the shower! They believe it strongly emphasises two key aspects about them:
The Hatched part comes from the ‘Hen’ in their name
The Hearts part comes from their commitment never to compromise the cuts of their distillations. If in doubt, for whatever reason, they air on the side of caution in order to achieve the best possible end product.
The name Henstone originates from the family homes of the co-founders. Chris and Alex live in an ex-public house called “The Hen and Chickens”, whilst Shane and Alison live in “Stone House”.
The partnership with Clintons will bring these fabulous drinks to the hearts of many more. The team at Clintons are incredibly proud to be supporting a small UK business and offer our customers something truly special to enjoy themselves, or share with their loved ones as a perfect gift... accompanied by a perfect card of course!
